Who we are
ipe() (pronounced “eye-puh”) is a small independent studio in Seoul, run by Davy Kim. The name comes from idle process — the state a processor enters when it has finished its work and simply rests. We make for that moment: a little space where a tired mind can exhale.
What we do
We make idle(), a series of lo-fi, ambient, chillhop and healing music. It is released on YouTube and gathered at idle.ipe.rest. Our debut concept album is dear(you); vol.1, ten tracks written as “ten letters to the you who made it through another hard day.” On ipe.rest we also keep a journal with notes about the music and the studio.
How the music is made
We say it openly: the music is produced with AI (Suno). Lyrics are AI-drafted and reviewed by a person. The concepts, the track order and the final release decisions are ours. We would rather be plain about the tools than pretend otherwise.
How we work
Calm by design: no streaks, no badges, no notifications that exist only to bring you back. Small on purpose: one person answers the mail. This site collects only basic visit statistics, described in the privacy policy, and shows no ads.
About the name
ipe() is a music and software studio. It is not related to ipe (ipê) hardwood, lumber or decking.
